This below was written from a friend of ours, Margo, in Memory of RagZ.

RagZ

I’ve started this letter about 20 times now and I cry every time and have to stop. I hope this is the only time I have to write a Memorial for a truly loved Dog as RagZ… What can I say??? I miss and love him so. He will be missed by Us and many others.

My history of RagZ goes back to the day we bought our first Great Dane. That was 5 years ago. We had lost our Boxer to Cancer and Larry my husband suggested I get another Breed. He said any breed so I knew what I wanted. My search for my first Great Dane took me to Taro Danes, Tammy & Bob Samples. I remember when we went to their house and Tammy showed us pictures of related dogs and I saw a picture of RagZ and Janice. I just knew I had seen them before, the more I thought about it after we left I finally remembered that the year before at The Astro Hall Series of Dog Shows that we went to watch the Boxers and next to the Boxers ring I saw this magnificent BIG BROWN DOG, which was a Great Dane, it was RagZ with Janice. I was so impressed by everything about him, all the other handlers were stacking there dogs and there was the two of them working as a team, no stacking, no touching to get him placed, Janice was just moving her finger and her foot and showing RagZ what she wanted. I was in awe, he was doing whatever she wanted……….

To this day I’ve never seen anyone show a dog as Janice could show RagZ….

Anyway let me get back to my excitement of knowing that the pup we were getting was a Granddaughter to this Great Dog. As we drove home I kept telling my husband that I just couldn’t believe that we were going to own this great puppy from this great dogs lineage….. Several weeks passed before we could pick up our little girl Maggie Mae, she was a handful and she was just full of herself, she was the little queen at our house from then on. Tammy suggested that we attend her handling classes so that Maggie could be socialized around other dogs and people. So here we came, us Newbies trying to fit in. Probably the 3rd trip to these classes guess who showed up ???? Janice & RagZ.  This time we got to see him up close and actually touch him. He was just the Most Beautiful Dog I’d ever seen and we knew that we wanted a male and wanted to get into showing……. From those days on we had the opportunity to spend time with him and got to love him. That was the beginning of RagZ in our life and I see no future without him. I will always miss and love him so, just like I miss and love his daughter Mouse, the Dam to our Maggie. Today we have a daughter, granddaughter, son and grandson of RagZ….

To Janice, Thanks so much for allowing us to own a Son of his, he is so loved, as for the emptiness in your heart, just always remember, all you have to do is pick up a Dane Magazine and there in those eyes of others is him, Your Beautiful RagZ.

Thank You RagZ ! ! !
